Geoffrey Mbwana

Interim Executive Director

Pastor Geoffrey Gabriel Mbwana is a distinguished Tanzanian church leader, educator, and global administrator with nearly five decades of dedicated service to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Born into a pastoral family in Tanzania, Pastor Mbwana began his ministry as a literature evangelist before serving in a variety of leadership roles, including teacher, chaplain, associate pastor, school principal, conference secretary, union president, and President of the East-Central Africa Division (ECD).

From 2010 to 2025, Pastor Mbwana served as a General Vice President of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, providing spiritual and administrative leadership to the worldwide Church. During this period, he also served for 15 years as Chairperson of the ADRA International Board, providing strategic governance and oversight to one of the world’s leading faith-based humanitarian organizations.

Pastor Mbwana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religion and Psychology from Spicer Memorial College in India, a Master of Arts in Education from Andrews University in the United States, and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from Poona University in India.

Widely respected for his humility, wisdom, and servant leadership, Pastor Mbwana has been instrumental in fostering cross-cultural collaboration, strengthening church governance, and promoting the integration of faith and service throughout the global Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Pastor Mbwana is married to Mrs. Nakku Mbwana, and together they are blessed with two daughters, Orupa and Upendo.

Dibden Chileya

Chief Financial Officer

Dibden Chileya is a seasoned finance executive and organizational leader with nearly four decades of experience in financial management, governance, organizational transformation, and executive leadership within the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the humanitarian sector. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of the ADRA Africa Regional Office, where he provides strategic financial leadership, governance oversight, and institutional strengthening support to ADRA country offices across the African continent.

Since joining ADRA Africa in 2015, Dibden has played a key role in strengthening financial stewardship, enterprise risk management, internal controls, organizational licensing, policy compliance, and board governance.

Before joining ADRA Africa, Dibden served in senior treasury, finance, and executive leadership positions at various levels of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, including Conference, Union, Division, and ADRA Country Office leadership. His broad experience encompasses financial management, accounting, human resources, administration, commercial real estate, strategic planning, change management, negotiation, conflict resolution, and organizational development.

Dibden is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA Australia) and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Solusi University. He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Organizational Change and Restructuring from the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI) in collaboration with the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. In addition, he has completed executive leadership studies through Cornell University, further strengthening his expertise in finance, leadership, and organizational excellence.

Hannah Ndungu

Emergency Management Director

Hannah is a visionary leader with over 23 years of experience in development and humanitarian work across Africa. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Leadership Business and Strategic Leadership from Adventist University of Africa, a Graduate Certificate in Humanitarian Leadership from Deakin University, Australia, and a Master of Science and Administration in International Development (specializing in Gender and Development) from Andrews University, Michigan, USA. Renowned for championing community-led solutions and resilience,

Hannah has advanced ADRA’s mission through strategic leadership in program design, emergency management, safeguarding, and inclusion. As a master trainer and advocate for accountable, faith-based leadership, she empowers teams and forges strong partnerships to drive lasting, community-driven change.

Prisca Chileya

Emergency and Programs Coordinator

Prisca Chileya is a humanitarian and development professional with over 15 years of experience leading emergency response, organizational capacity strengthening, governance, licensing support, communications, and programme management across Africa.

She is also an educationist and community and health psychologist with a passion for youth mental health, well-being, and leadership development.

Prisca currently serves with the ADRA Africa Regional Office, where she provides technical leadership in humanitarian preparedness and response, cash and voucher assistance (CVA), monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL), organizational capacity strengthening, and the licensing of ADRA country offices across the continent. She has successfully coordinated multi-country programmes, supported organizational accreditation, strengthened institutional systems, and built the capacity of country offices throughout Africa.

She holds a teaching qualification from the University of Zambia, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from the University of South Africa (UNISA), and a Master’s degree in Global Community Development from Southern Adventist University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Leadership with a Strategic Business emphasis.

Prisca is passionate about promoting health and well-being, developing resilient communities, strengthening faith-based and youth-led community organizations, and mentoring emerging leaders to create lasting social impact.

Prisca is married to Dibden Chileya, and together they have two adult children, Chileleko and Luumuno.
